Role of Endocrines on Phospholipid Metabolism
1. Adrenal cortex- The active principles of adrenal cortex help the
local enzymes (phosphatase or phosphorylase) which are directly concerned with
phosphate transfer.
2. Anterior pituitary-Anterior pituitary regulates the activity of
adrenal cortex through its Adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH).
3. Pancreas- Insulin decreases the Phospholipid content of plasma.
4. Thyroid-Thyroxin increases the Phospholipid content of liver.
